The Calydons Destiny: The Calydons are a race of ancient immortals cursed with a dark side. Each Calydon is destined to meet his soul mate, to be so drawn to her that he is unable to resist bonding with her through the rituals of his race...
...but their destiny is to destroy each other and all they care about the moment their bond is complete.

Origins Edit

Two thousand years ago, twin brothers Ezekiel and Caleb and their followers drank from a river tainted with demon magic. They gained immense powers but also became cursed with the potential to go rogue. To be rogue is to become irreversibly consumed with a madness that drives the male to destroy the innocent people he otherwise feels compelled to protect.

Abilities Edit

  • Speed
  • Strength
  • Telepathy
    • All Calydons can communicate telepathically with each other over short distances
    • Calydons who have exchanged blood with each other ("blood brothers") can use telepathy no matter how far apart they are
    • The only non-Calydon a male can connect to telepathically is his sheva

Dream Edit

At age eighteen, every Calydon has a dream that transports him to another plane of existence, where he must fight a vicious battle. If he dies in the dream, he also dies in real life. If he survives the dream, his weapons appear on his forearms.

Weapons Edit

Every Calydon warrior has two weapons, one branded into each forearm. He can summon the weapons with a thought and they appear in his hands with a cracking sound and a flash of black light. If he allows the weapon to leave his hand and no one else touches it, it will disintegrate within a few seconds and cannot be recalled for a few minutes. That prevents anyone else from using the weapon, but there are two cases where one person can use another's weapon:

  • A sheva can call her mate's weapons.
  • They can be harvested from the warrior's body at the exact moment of death.

Only a Calydon weapon can cause a permanent scar on another Calydon.

Death Edit

Calydons are very difficult to kill because they can heal from seemingly mortal wounds and even come back to life. When a Calydon dies, the body is absorbed into the earth, giving the semblance of disappearance, and the only part of the person that remains is the mjui. The older the Calydon, the faster the body will disintegrate.
